The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Pharmacy is seeking applications from qualified scientists to lead the School’s new Biomedical Sciences department. This position was recently created based on the expansion and growth of our sciences faculty. The Biomedical Sciences department has approximately 18 state appropriated faculty positions with multiple open positions. Biomedical Sciences includes the areas of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Physiology.
The TTUHSC School of Pharmacy has a growing reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and patient care services. In addition to the Pharm.D. program, an expanding Ph.D. program exists in Amarillo with 45 graduate students currently enrolled. This state-funded Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is jointly administered by both the Biomedical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences departments.
Research facilities are housed in a new biomedical sciences research building and recently expanded pharmaceutical sciences facilities in the School of Pharmacy building. A new academic pharmacy building is currently under construction. Please see www.ttuhsc.edu/sop/ for more information.

Education, training, experience:
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree, administrative and teaching experiences, a demonstrated track record of extramural funding and publication in the broad research areas of existing faculty within each Department commensurate with an appointment to a tenured professor position. Successful candidates will enjoy a highly competitive start-up package and generous laboratory space. The position requires effective communication, interpersonal, and team building skills, and the ability to work with faculty members across multiple disciplines. The chair will also provide vision and direction for the department, mentor faculty, and serve on the School’s administrative team.
