Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), a private institution with a 125-year tradition located in Albany, NY, is seeking applications for faculty positions in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at its new satellite campus near Burlington, VT. The Vermont campus enrolled its first Doctor of Pharmacy class in fall 2009.

Three tenure-track assistant/associate professor positions are available in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacology. Responsibilities will include teaching in pharmaceutics and in courses that integrate medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy for the Pharm.D. program, establishing an individual or collaborative extramurally-funded research program, and participation in the service missions of the college.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in the respective area or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience, a strong commitment to teaching excellence, graduate education, and continuing scholarship. Research backgrounds in some aspects of the drug candidate development process or promising drug targets are the best matches to the departmental orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates with a pharmacy background, teaching experience, and experience with innovative and on-line/distance teaching technologies are especially encouraged to apply.
