The four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program will continue to accept 100 students per year for a total of 400 students.

The College's research orientation will distinguish it from other pharmacy schools in northern New England. With a goal to be one of the top ranked pharmacy schools in the nation, we are seeking candidates with experience in scientific and clinical research to successfully guide this exciting period of growth. Current areas of research focus include drug discovery and development, therapeutic biomarkers, drug delivery methods, nutraceuticals, herbal medicines, and strategies for assessing individual variations in drug response.

The University of New England's state-of-the-art College of Pharmacy building, completed in August 2009, is the first facility devoted entirely to pharmacy academic studies and research in the state of Maine. The COP Dean works collaboratively as a member of the University's leadership team, including the Deans of the other three colleges and senior administration, to advance the College and University strategic plans. The Dean also promotes advancement of interprofessional health science education and research, and represents the College and University in the public and professional communities.

The successful candidate will be a Pharm.D. and/or Ph.D., with an outstanding record of effective leadership in pharmacy education.
