School of Pharmacy – Georgia Campus

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has created a new School of Pharmacy based in Suwanee, Georgia (about 30 miles outside of Atlanta) and is seeking qualified individuals for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Pharmacy Practice specializing in internal medicine or ambulatory care. The School of Pharmacy is currently applying for precandidate status with ACPE and seeks to enroll its inaugural class in Fall 2010.

This individual will be expected to assist in the development of the PharmD program, teach a variety of topics in pharmacotherapeutics, develop a practice site at a hospital, ambulatory care clinic or outpatient pharmacy site, precept students at the site and develop a program of scholarship as evidenced by attainment of research/training grants and presentation and publication of scholarly work. In addition, individuals will be expected to contribute to the service needs of the School, serve on various committees and participate in the accreditation process. The successful applicant will possess a Pharm.D. degree or Ph.D. in a pharmacy-related discipline with successful completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 accredited residency program or have equivalent clinical training. Desirable qualifications include previous teaching experience in a classroom setting or precepting students on rotations, completion of a fellowship program of at least 2 years duration with independent research experience and previous academic experience in a school of pharmacy. Applicants must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Georgia.
