Pharmacy Practice Faculty Position
Clinical Educator – Ambulatory Care (Cardiology, Internal Medicine, ED)
The Department of Pharmacy Practice has openings for clinical educator track faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The level of appointment will be based on individual qualifications and professional goals.
Responsibilities include establishing an innovative clinical practice in an ambulatory care setting, serving as a preceptor and role model for clerkship students and participating in team-taught didactic courses. Applicants should have a PharmD degree with postgraduate residency training or equivalent experience in ambulatory care. Individuals who wish to develop an ambulatory care practice in cardiology or emergency room medicine are especially encouraged to apply. Temple University School of Pharmacy has implemented a dynamic curriculum utilizing a variety of innovative teaching techniques. Faculty members have access to state of the art multi-media systems, and computer technology to assist them in developing novel educational approaches. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of creative educators dedicated to providing quality education to their students; pharmacy care to patients; and who are involved in a variety of research projects. The philosophy of the School of Pharmacy is to foster individual growth and to encourage faculty members to dedicate their time and efforts in areas where they will be most productive.
The School’s location on a Health Sciences Campus provides an abundance of opportunities to collaborate with other health professional educators, clinicians and researchers.
Temple University School of Pharmacy is in the midst of unprecedented growth with the goal to significantly enhance its research capabilities. The School houses a Core Facility for Pharmacokinetics and Bioanalysis, the Jayne Haines Center for Pharmacogenomics and Drug Safety, and a cGMP facility. Faculty members are engaged in several collaborative research relationships with colleagues in the School of Medicine and Temple University Hospital.
