PCOM - School of Pharmacy in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs. The School of Pharmacy has obtained Precandidate Accreditation Status with ACPE and is currently enrolling its inaugural class.The Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs will provide leadership in and supervision of the professional development of the Doctor of Pharmacy students and will also oversee Student Affairs for the School of Pharmacy. The Assistant Dean will work with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs on the main campus and the Associate Director of the Center for Student Affairs on the Georgia Campus to insure consistency regarding student related issues and to share information regarding student services. Reporting to the Dean, School of Pharmacy, the Assistant Dean will be a member of the School of Pharmacy leadership team. Key responsibilities of the position include:Oversee faculty advisor program in the School of Pharmacy; provide academic advising services to pharmacy students; work with student organizations in the School of Pharmacy; establish and oversee student professional associations in pharmacy; set up and oversee career fairs and job placement functions for students; assist in the student recruitment, admission and retention processes; work with the staff of the Center for Student Affairs on the GA campus; manage the student complaint policy for pharmacy students; champion the development of student professionalism; coordinate School of Pharmacy student affairs policies with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs on the main campus and the Associate Director of the Center for Student Affairs on the Georgia campus.The successful applicant will possess an earned doctorate in Pharmacy or a Ph.D. in a pharmacy related discipline. A minimum of three years experience in academic administration at an institution of higher education is required. Preference will be given to individuals with administrative experience, student affairs experience or teaching experience in a professional pharmacy program.The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
