Job Summary:
Regis University School of Pharmacy (RUSOP) invites applications at the Assistant Professor rank for a full-time, 12-month appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
Regis seeks applicants with strong social administrative sciences experience. The position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative student-centered Doctor of Pharmacy program that integrates the biomedical, pharmaceutical, social administrative, and clinical sciences. Curricular content is developed primarily using Team-Based Learning™ (TBL), an active learning teaching model in which the faculty facilitates student learning that promotes self-directed learning, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, delivering curricular content in social administrative sciences areas (e.g., biostatistics, research methods, literature evaluation, pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes, leadership and management), mentoring/precepting IPPE/APPE students, as well as engaging in service to the school, college, university, and community while maintaining a scholarly agenda.
Regis University is a nationally recognized Jesuit Catholic university located in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Regis University is comprised of three colleges including the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions (RHCHP) which houses the School of Pharmacy. RHCHP includes the following programs: Division of Counseling and Family Therapy, Loretto Heights School of Nursing, and the School of Physical Therapy. This offers excellent opportunities for both collaboration and interprofessional education.
RUSOP has a traditional 4-year PharmD pathway and an accelerated 3-year PharmD pathway. RUSOP is a leader in active learning, combining our highly integrated curriculum with a team-taught approach via TBL. RUSOP provides a collaborative learning environment that prepares students to become an integral part of a health care team with access to hands-on opportunities via laboratory skills development, patient simulation, and experiential education. Regis emphasizes excellent teaching, values-based education, clinical expertise, service learning, and scholarship.
The School of Pharmacy has been fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education since 2013 with most recent renewal in 2019. In addition, the School of Pharmacy has overall program averages for both the NAPLEX and postgraduate residency placement exceeding the national average.
This faculty role directly supports Regis University's strategic plan and Jesuit mission by fostering academic excellence, promoting compassionate service, and preparing students to become socially responsible health care professionals. Through a commitment to active learning, interprofessional collaboration, and community engagement, the Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice will play a key role in advancing health equity and developing future leaders in pharmacy who are guided by ethical reflection, lifelong learning, and service to others.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Teaching:
- Develop instructional materials, assessments, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments and continuous feedback.
- Deliver and facilitate learning sessions in social administrative science, laboratory, and interprofessional education courses.
- Precept pharmacy students during rotations to meet programmatic outcomes.
Scholarship:
- Establish and maintain a scholarly agenda.
- Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and students on research projects and publications.
- Pursue internal and external funding opportunities to support scholarly agenda.
Service:
- Contribute service to the School, College, University, Profession, and Community.
- Engage in professional organizations.
Working Conditions:
- Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for meetings, events, or additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Requires standing for extended periods during classroom or laboratory instruction.
Required Qualifications
Education
Pharm.D. (or equivalent) with residency or fellowship training in health outcomes research or social administrative pharmacy.
or
PhD in a health-related field with a focus in health outcomes, health policy, biostatistics, informatics, economics, epidemiology, or implementation science.
Experience
- Prior experience with biostatistics including research design, methods, and analysis.
Special knowledge, skills, abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong technology skills for statistical analysis software (SAS, SPSS, or other statistical analysis software).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to efficiently manage documents, analyze data, and communicate effectively via email.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with healthcare economics, informatics, and implementation science.
- Prior experience with course design, instruction, and evaluation.
- Prior experience in teaching in an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum.

Pay Rate:
$98,000- $102,000/annually commensurate with qualifications
