ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
The Harrison College of Pharmacy is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor for the Department of Health Outcomes Research and Policy at Auburn University. The Assistant/Associate Professor will have the unique opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team and to contribute broadly to on- going efforts to enhance and expand the vast array of initiatives taking place in an internationally recognized academic and research institution.

HCOP is Alabama’s only public institution charged with educating and preparing practice-ready pharmacists and the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists. In addition to the main campus in Auburn, the college has a campus located in Mobile, Alabama on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
HCOP offers an undergraduate drug and biopharmaceutical sciences degree, the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, as well as graduate programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences with concentrations in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Health Outcomes Research and Policy. PharmD students can enroll in several dual degree programs including the PharmD/MBA and PharmD/MPH degrees. There are typically between 550-600 students in the PharmD program and approximately 60 graduate students at any given time.

The Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time 12-month faculty position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Health Outcomes Research and Policy. Appointment as Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, publications, and teaching proficiency consistent with appointment to the associate rank at a research-intensive university.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or a terminal professional doctorate in pharmacy or related discipline plus two years post-doctoral training in a research-intensive program. Applicants must demonstrate strength in research and teaching in implementation science and/or community engaged research.
The primary research goal of the Department is to improve medication-related outcomes through practice and population-based research. Applicants should have expertise in related or complementary disciplines to work collaboratively with other faculty in the Department, with other Departments in the Harrison College of Pharmacy, and across Auburn University. The Harrison College of Pharmacy is focused on advancing patient care through translational research and development of transformative practice models. We are seeking to hire a faculty member with expertise in implementation science and/or community engaged research who will collaborate within the college, across the university, and with partners in the community. Teaching opportunities are available in Undergraduate, Doctor of Pharmacy, and Graduate programs.
Successful candidates are expected to:
Actively participate in the teaching mission of the Harrison College of Pharmacy at the graduate level (MS, PhD), professional level (PharmD), and in other academic programs as needed.
Mentor undergraduate, professional (PharmD) and graduate (MS, PhD) students.
Develop and/or maintain an extramurally funded research program from public and/or private sources.
Be involved in collaborative research programs with faculty across campus.
Demonstrate a high level of scholarly activity as evidenced by quality publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and active participation in professional societies; and
Contribute to Department, College, and University service activities.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or a terminal professional doctorate in pharmacy or related discipline plus two years post-doctoral training in a research-intensive program. Applicants must demonstrate strength in research and teaching in implementation science and/or community engaged research.
Hold a strong educational foundation with research experience in implementation science and/or participatory research models/community engaged research
Eligibility for a tenure-track faculty appointment at Auburn University at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Applicants for the Associate Professor position must demonstrate a robust record of securing external funding and a strong portfolio of teaching excellence within higher education institutions. `

This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position on-site position located at the Harrison College of Pharmacy in Auburn, Alabama.
